| BACKGROUND | |
| The Rape and Sexual Abuse Center (RSAC) was opened by the Neighborhood Involvement Program in 1972 as one of the first rape crisis centers in the country. Over the years, we have broadened our focus to include childhood sexual abuse, secondary victims of sexual violence, legal advocacy and community education and prevention programming. Through the dedication of our trained staff and volunteers we have been able to help thousands of individuals begin the healing process from sexual violence. |
| |
| MISSION | |
| The primary mission of the Rape and Sexual Abuse Center is to provide caring, competent and affordable services to female and male survivors of sexual abuse and assault in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. RSAC is committed to educating professional colleagues and the general public about sexual trauma. We firmly believe that information and understanding are critical to preventing and breaking the cycle of sexual violence and trauma. |
